CD Sitching cover!!!! Pulp Hits album cover

Hits is a greatest hits collection by popular UK indie-pop band Pulp, released in Britain in November 2002. As a collection, it only covers Pulp's singles from the early-90s when they started becoming popular, although the band had existed in one form or another since 1979. this is what my album cover has been inspired by. to create an album cover that looks like it was has been stictched. this is a new and interesting idea, i havent seen it really been used before and i think that it would grabs peoples attention. and thats what an album cover should do.
this was my version of my cd cover. i wanted to create the cd cover, for the song party. thats why i wanted to have people dancing and just enjoying themselves and thats how i started to plan how i wanted to create my cd cover. it needed to be bright and have a wow factor to it. just like the cd cover above that really grabs my attentions and you get a sense of attitude when you look at it, and thats what i wanted for my album cover i wanted it to have the atmosphere of a party.

i did this by first taking pictures of people in different poses, so i would then be able to put them on photoshop and make them look like they have been stitched with fabric. to do this i had to pick a pattern for each picture and all the picture i chose i tried to make sure that they were lively and upbeat to fit in with the theme of a party, then once id found a pattern i had to add it into photoshop and use the mask tool to create the fabric effect. i then had to added text and an outline of the images this made the image look better and also to add to the look of it being stitched. this was the final outcome after i had completed the stitching effect for my cd cover.

i think that it worked really well because the images look like they are dancing and having a good time, i also really like the fact that the images looked like they have been stitched with fabrics thats the part that went the best. i also think that it reflects the pulp album cover really well.

what i think didn't go so well was the text. i wanted to make it look more like it had been stitched instead of just typed out. i also would of added more pictures of people if i had the time as i think it would create more of a party atmosphere that way. but overall i think that it worked really well and came out how i wanted it to.
