packaging research

these are some existing packaging so i could look at different ways of creating my packaging and also how they are put together, it will also give me ideas that i haven't thought of before, and it will give me a better idea of how things will work and what materials will be best for my own design.
this is a packaging that i found and the reason that i chose to look at it was because i really love the use of the bow to hold in the cd and also as for my album i want to have more than one cd and im also going to have different artist so i think that it would look really good if i had a different colour bow for each artist i think that would be such a good look.

i also like the idea of having the cd in a box, i think it makes the packaging look more classy and professional, i think that the target auldience for this cd would be females because of the use of the bow, i think it gives a real feminine touch to the packaging, and as my album is all about females i think it would be a really nice touch. another thing that iv noticed is the colours all match and work together, i think thats important because the packaging needs to link together and be a whole.

when i first saw this i thought that is so sweet and i think by using the bow it instantly gives it a personal touch to it and i could see it working on my own packaging i think this is really good and gives the packaging that something extra.

love, love, love this cd cover, when i first saw it i thought yes, that looks exactly like how i want my cd packing to look, the only thing that i didnt think would work was the black cover, that wouldnt work at all with my theme but i love the photos and the graphics, how it has that collage look to it and i think that would work really well with my album because im using alot of different artist, and im taking my own pictures putting them into a collage like this cd cover i think would work really well.

i think that the colours for this album works really well because they all tie into each other. i really like the way the hand made type is on the front cover and when you close everything together you can see the images from the collage through the lettering, i think that is a really nice touch, the hand made type is simple but effect because it matches the artist and when you look at it i just think this really works, also its a suprise for the fan, they see a basic not much design at all on the frount and then they open it up and see the pictures, i really like that idea.

i also like the way the packaging opens up, with the sliding of the two parts, the design is used alot in cd packaging but what makes this one different is the way that both the parts work with each other, and i think that is something i want to keep in mind when looking at my packaging. i think that the target audience for this cd would be either male or females and for about teenagers to younge adults but could easyly be for older people aswell, this packaging is very versitail,
i think this packaging is a very good idea and will be even better as a design for my cd over because i am going to have more than one cd within the cover, and iv never seen it been done in this way, and i think that it really works, the cds are held in place and it looks very professional. what made me like it the most is that iv never seen it before and thats what makes me want to look at it, because when i design my final design i want it to be different and not seen before.

this has been made out of card and i think it works, to me it works well because the colours all match and i think it would apeal to the correct target audience which is what it should do. also alot of design has gone into this packaging and i think thats really important. i think that the materials that i use are really important because this has been used out card but the card it very thick so it will be durable, and be able to last, and thats what i need to think about.

i would want to make my packaging out of thick for card for example 1mm thick, so i know that it will last and also the size from my research iv noticed is really important, because i needs to be either normal cd size or slightly bigger to still fit in the rack, or completely bigger than the normal cd packaging, to make it clear that it won't fit in a normal rack, because that could be annoying to the buyer if it looks like it will fit but then doesn't.

this packaging is for the Simpsons movie, but the reason i chose to look at it, was because it fits exactly what i want to achieve and what i love about this is the box has been shaped as a donut, box and thats what i want to achieve because the box reflects the character in the Simpsons and its in keeping with the theme of the Simpsons, so with my packaging i want it to keep in with the theme of the artist and when people look at it they know who it is just like this packaging the buyer will know that this is the Simpsons and they will be able to relate.

the box has been made out of extremely thick card for the box, and it makes such a difference and thats exactly what i need to do, and make a box that will be really strong. i think this whole packaging really works and really comes together. i also like the cd is being held in a donut as well which completes the theme of it being in a donut box.

this is the type of fastening that i want for my box, it has a button that keeps it all together and i wanted to use three buttons for each of my artists and use that on the box. i also have to tow designs in mind for the shape of the box, which are a basic shape and then a match box type of shape which i think would cause more need for the buttons to keep the box together and i think it would add more effect to the design by having it as a match box size.
